75 Day Glow Up Challenge: the full rules, day by day

The 75 day glow up challenge is simple to say and hard to do: pick a handful of small daily rituals โ€” skincare, water, movement, a few quiet minutes โ€” and do all of them, every day, for 75 days. No perfect-morning aesthetic required. Just the same five boxes, ticked 75 times, until the person ticking them is noticeably not the person who started.

It grew out of the stricter 75-day discipline challenges (two workouts a day, zero flexibility, restart from day 1 if you slip) and the softer "75 soft" variants that followed. The glow up version keeps the length โ€” 75 days is long enough that the change is visible in the mirror โ€” but aims it at how you look and feel rather than raw discipline for its own sake.

The rules

1
A morning and evening skincare ritual. Nothing fancy โ€” cleanse, moisturise, SPF in the morning. The point is doing it on the days you don't feel like it.
2
2โ€“3 litres of water. The least glamorous rule and the one that shows in your skin first.
3
Move for at least 20 minutes. A walk counts. A workout counts. Dancing in your room absolutely counts.
4
Ten minutes for your head. Journal, plan tomorrow, sit in silence โ€” anything that isn't a screen.
5
One progress photo a day. You will hate this rule until about day 40, and then it becomes the whole reason you finish.

That's it. Five rules. The magic isn't in any one of them โ€” it's in the unbroken run of days.

The 75 days, mapped honestly

Everyone who quits, quits at the same places. Knowing where they are is half the defence.

Days 1โ€“3: the settling window

Motivation does the work for you. Use these days to shrink the rules until they're almost embarrassingly easy โ€” a ritual you can do on your worst day is a ritual that survives 75 of them.

Days 4โ€“10: the first friction

The novelty wears off before the habit forms. This is where a streak โ€” a number that grows every day and would visibly stop โ€” earns its keep.

Days 11โ€“30: the invisible stretch

The hardest part isn't difficulty, it's silence: you're doing everything right and the mirror hasn't caught up. This is exactly what the daily photos are for. Day 20 you compared to day 1 you is already a different story than the mirror tells.

Days 30โ€“45: the wall

Nearly every 75-day attempt that fails, fails here โ€” far enough in to be tired, not far enough to see the finish. Two things get you through it: someone who notices whether you showed up, and permission to have one bad day without calling the whole thing ruined.

Days 46โ€“74: downhill with a view

Somewhere in the 50s it flips: the rituals stop costing willpower and start being what you do. Around here people usually notice โ€” someone will ask what changed.

Day 75

Put day 1's photo next to day 75's. You won't need to explain it to anyone.

What happens when you miss a day?

This is the question that decides whether you finish, and the classic hard-mode answer โ€” start over from day 1 โ€” is exactly why most people don't. One bad Tuesday erases 40 days of evidence, and the restart never happens.

The kinder rule works better: one shielded miss per week. Miss a day, the shield takes the hit, the streak lives, and tomorrow you're back โ€” no spirals, no starting over. A streak that can survive being human is the only kind that reaches 75.

Tracking it: paper vs an app

A printed checklist on the wall works โ€” until the week you travel, or the day you're in bed by 9 and the wall is in the kitchen. Whatever you use, it needs to do four things: hold the daily list, keep the streak, store the photos privately, and notice when you've gone quiet.

We built Bloom to be exactly that: the five rituals as tap-to-tick cards, a streak with a weekly shield, a private polaroid diary (photos never leave your phone), and a partner who checks in every day โ€” your real bestie via a pairing code, or an AI one who texts you like a friend and never lets you flop. Its Glow Up 75 challenge is this exact structure, ready on day 1.
